Most Air NZ A320 and 321 sets now include coroguard and small detail markings. As these are CEO/NEO markings this does not apply to the Rugby scheme or the Pacific Wave schemes.
RNZAF 1944-47 and NAC ZK-AMG and ZK-AMK Sunderland sets have been redone to reflect these aircraft being Sunderland IIIT aircraft with very different windows arrangements and some other changes. Other RNZAF Sunderland V sets now have small changes to reflect the RNZAF configuration.
RNZAF Oxford and Consuls have been re-issued and now include stencil markings.

The price of the Welsh kits has risen significantly due to the 20% drop in the NZ$ against the UK Pd and for some kits price increases at source due rising resin costs in the UK.
There has been a baseline increase of 50 cents for the postage of larger decals due to NZ Post price increases, and smaller increases in cost of packaging and envelopes. This only affects single item decal orders.
The bulk of this print run are on newly sourced decal paper. The old manufacturer ceased making decal paper. Unfortunately the new source is nearly double in cost. This has meant that a small number of decals previously priced at $12.50 and $20 have increased to $15 and $25 respectively as the margins vanished. The cost increases were able to be absorbed this time for the others.
For those attending the NZ IPMS Nationals at Karapiro 10 - 11 November look out for my stand - I look forward to meeting you. All stock including kits will be available.

489(NZ) Sqn Beaufort, Blenheim and Hampden sets have corrected Sqn/aircraft lettering colouring and for the Blenheim and Hampden also have optional white lettering.
Also receiving corrected Sqn/aircraft lettering colouring are the RNZAF Hudson Pacific 42 all sets, RNZAF Hinds, 485(NZ) Sqn early Spitfires (1/48 only) and RNZAF Vildebeeste last scheme (1/72 only).
It has taken quite a few goes to get the RAF Light Grey and RAF Sky colours how I want them following the change of printer (and therefore ink) at the firm that prints my decals. All un updated sets using these colours will be dealt with over the next couple of print runs in the New Year.
All RNZAF Walrus sets will now come with an additional aircraft registration and the ship’s crests for HMS Leander and Achillies (carried on some Walrus between 1937 and 1939)

This is the start of a new partnership with Welsh Models, I have the Saab 340 and CV580 resin kits on order. Others will follow. Later in the year Welsh will be releasing two resin kits with OMD decal sets. As the haven't released this news I can't say more at this stage except one is an RNZAF subject previously only available in 1/144 in vacuform.
If you are wondering why the lack of new decals since October 2016 this is an unfortunate outcome of the building the printing firm uses being off limits initially for earthquake strengthening then, as a result of the November 14 Kaikoura earthquake, damage repair. Re-opening was originally early Dec, then late Jan, then "by March" - the latest is March 20. I am close to top of the queue for a big run with some exciting new releases and desperately needed reprints.
My apologies for those waiting for custom work - this is totally out of my control.

The NZ RAF Sqn sheets also contain a supply of the correct width white and black invasion stripes for the schemes that covered the D-Day – Jan 45 period where applicable, and the different stripes (including yellow) for the Typhoons. The early and late 489 Beaufighter split relates to two very different schemes carried by these birds. The 490 Sqn stuff is very basic and as the aircraft carried no Squadron code (can’t find that one was even allocated to them) could be used for any Catalina or Sunderland of that period – many if not most Coastal Command squadrons based outside of the European theatre carried no Squadron codes. Very little useful/usable info out there on 490 Sqn.

The first scheme is essentially a new decal replacing the previous 2013 scheme decal. the others are digital releases of existing inkjet decals (still available on request)

I am in the process of re-organisingt his website and changing a lot of the prices. I will try to update as I go over the next few days.
The RNZAF section has now been split into four witht he current schemes on the first page. As part of the RNZAF re-org the DC-3 and DH89 listings have moved to "WARBIRDS" and the Sunderland to RNZAF 40-60.
One new decal is a re-issue - P3K Orion 50th Anniversary tail decal in 1/72, 144 and 200. As this needs the current P-3K/K2 decal it is listed in the "current" schemes page beneath that decal.
In the RNZAF 40s-60s page the P-51D Mustangs in 1/24 and 1/32 have been split by Squadron to enable the cost to be lowered.
Speaking of costs, unfortunately the larger decals have increased in price, but many smaller ones have dropped. This is the first increase since I started two years ago. The increases were forced on me by a mid 2012 large increase in decal costs followed by a massive recent 250% hike in parcel postage costs in the USA from where I source them. In addition the inkjet cartridges and overspray cans have also been creeping up by about 20% over the last two years.
On the other hand, working on better ways to pack a decal sheet has allowed me to reduce the price of many smaller decals.

One totally new decal -
Mt Cook HS748 - DES variant on the first scheme. 1/72 and 1/144
A complete rework of the Islander collection has seen seven decals become sixteen with each scheme now a separate decal with a consequent big drop in price ($15 to $7.50 (2) or $5.00 (14)). See the NZ Islanders / Trislanders page for details.
On a similar vein the Lodestar decal has been split into two -
NAC-Union and Airland-Fieldair with halved prices. The NAC-Union Electra 10 decal has also been reworked and is now upgraded and half the price. 1/72 and 1/144
Talking of upgrading I have been slowly reworking my older decals to newer standards. I am still doing this but decided it was time to update some of the graphics - in this update the 737s, F27s, DC3s (except warbird), HS748s, Bandierantes, Dash 8s (excepting Air NZ still under action), DH83/86/89/90s, Trislander and the TAT Widgeon have had new pictures uploaded.
On the "bench" - big upgrades to Air NZ B1900 and Dash 8, black B1900s, and new ATRs scheme.

Happy New Year to all. I hope you have an enjoyable year completing all those kits that you, like me, have started but not finished and plenty new ones too.
To start the New Year off I have added two RNZAF Devon schemes- the last VIP/Communications and Navigation/signals trainer ones. These were in use when the aircraft were retired in 1981 and maintained on the 5 Instructional airframes at Woodbourne and the examples in the RNZAF Museum. The instructional aircraft were retired in 2011 with the trainers sold. The VIP/Communication aircraft are heading for the RNZAF Historic Flight with the intent to fly one of them, most likely in the last scheme. The RNZAF used 2 Doves and 28 Devons from 1947 onwards.

Upload of 1/200 DC-3s completed.

I have completed the upload of the Commuter aircraft. The previous five schemes have been joined by 32 new ones, some in more than one scale - check them out!

Yes, its been a while since I updated this, mainly because I have been busy creating decals.
Some updates:
DC-3s - to the three NAC schemes, Electra 10, Lodestar and Heron improvements, reg addition (DC-3), and new NAC and Union Airways logos. The Electra 10 and Lodestar now cover both schemes. I am also progressively adding 1/200th DC-3 decals - the 3 NAC schemes and RNZAF have been added. The others are available and will follow in the next day or two.
RNZAF - besides the 1/200 DC-3, the UH-1H Iroquois is now available in 1/144th for the F-TOYS kit.
Metroliners - most have been improved. In addition the Air Nelson scheme now includes the NSS scheme. NEW - I have added Air Albatross - the first Metroliner operator in NZ.
A very large number of new decals will be added to the NZ commuter Aircraft list over the next couple of days.

The RNZAF range has been updated by adding a 1/24th decal to the UH-1D/H Iroquois range.
And the long awaited high viz RNZAF C-130H schemes are here. The decals cover both the original delivery and 1980 schemes. The decals are available in 1/48, 1/72, 1/144 and 1/200. Made from official records, they are very comprehensive and the 48th scale decal at 2.25 A4 sized sheets is the largest I have done to date.

Three new decals join the range.
1/144 and 1/72 Bandierante of Air New Zealand Link (Eagle Air) in the final Pacific Wave scheme. The 1/144 decal corrects the decal in the new PAS Models kit which has several major mistakes.

Cairo Aviation Tu 204-120C in 1/144 for a modified RusAir kit.

A big week. The Boeing 737 page has been updated. Some of the smaller items on these sheets have been replaced by much sharper examples. Alternate plain black windows have been included at some modelers requests. The scale range has been increased to include 72nd (for Welsh and Monogram) and 100th (not sure of the kit but plenty of requests so there must be one!).
The 40-60s range has had 144th Electra 10 and Lodestar added (again modeler requests for resin kits)
The RNZAF C-130 range has had front windows added to the 72nd and 144th scales, as well as to new sets for 1/200 (for Hasegawa).
I have also added Facebook and Twitter share buttons for those who wish to spread the good news of this range. I have also added at the top of the home page the latest update date so you can quickly see if its been updated with more goodies since your last visit.
Rich Ellis from the Britmodeller forum has done reviews of four sheets. Please note the reviews of the F27 and B737 sheets were of the pre-updated sheets and most issues mentioned have been fixed. I continue to offer the brownish F27 windows (as I note does F-RSIN) because the real ones were brown tinted - I think the finish is more realistic.

The F27 Friendship page has been updated. These were my oldest decals. Some changes have been done to almost all the sheets - many are minor such as new improved de-icing boots. I have also removed pixelation issues on some sheets. However some sizeing issues with some smaller bits on a few sheets have also been fixed (I found these when making one of each of the twelve main schemes for a 50th Anniversary of F27s in NZ display for the NZ IPMS Nationals). Alternate window strips have also been provided for the NAC 1st and 2nd schemes in response to requests I received at the show.
